ValentineSmalentine

So, given my utter hatred of 14 February – mad mad mad mad mad mad – you might ask yourself what I did with my day.

I had a nice three day weekend preceding *that* day.  It snowed starting on Saturday.  It was really interesting to watch the progression of the storm.  I was out and about, mailing off things.  The snow was coming down, but it wasn’t sticking.  At least, it wasn’t when I went *into* the post office.  When I came out of the post office, around 1:30 pm (13:30 for you international types), it was sticking.  It was actually really pretty to watch.  I returned to my home and watched the snow come down.  Utterly gorgeous.

Sunday was more of the same.  The snow did not actually stop until noon-ish.  But I did not think they would cancel schools for Monday.  Oh, but they did.  At four pm on Sunday.  I was shocked.  How could they know how bad it would be on the roads?  I did not complain, however.  It was a nice surprise.

So, I worked on *that* day.  There were “Singing Valentines” – which are somewhat cute, depending on your mood.  The Chamber Chorus members break up into small groups and roam about, singing bits of songs to people.  It can be nice.  I then watched over the crew members.  Nothing unusual.

I came home to a box from the Italian Angel.  It had an adorable – and huge – teddy bear in it.  So very cute.

But – other than that – it was a bit of a blah day.  Stupid day.

Front!

Oh Colin….

LOOK! It’s me. Muahahahaha. I’m taking the dust off the old blog. Poor thing. It looks so sad. ::pats it::
So dusty, too. Stand back, everyone.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I hope you stood back. Wouldn’t want dust all over the readers, now.

As for why the long, long hiatus…
I hate Valentine’s Day. I hate it so much, I go into hiding until it is over. Stupid, stupid day. mad

But it’s over. And we look forward.

To the 26th of February.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I have a couple of people to thank, actually.  Yes, I’m weird.  I have this desire to thank people, thank you.  q: to you.

  1. Marlee over at Northern Bound.  She was my landlord this week and she was utterly fantastic to me.  (=  So, yeah.  Thanks to Marlee.
  2. My dear Serenus.  There is something about her that makes me – calmer, happier.  I’m not sure what.
  3. The Jaybird.  No, I’ve not actually talked about him on here before.  He’s new.  And he listens to me vent – a lot.  And still talks to me.  (;  Amazing.
  4. The Italian Angel.  As always.  So good to me.
  5. Diner.  For the frunk and for just – being happy when I show up.  It’s nice to know.
  6. Colin and Betty.  For responding to my emails.  You’d be surprised how many people don’t do that.  It’s weird.
  7. The WM.  ‘Nuff said.

I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten someone.  We’ll get back to it soon.

Tenet Joisey!

I have to apologize to my current tenet – Joisey of Thought Bubbles.  I have been very lax in promoting her site this week and I feel awlful.  To make amends, I will probably promote her site for another week for free.  I am a bad, bad landlord this week.  FG – this week, I am one of those unmentionable landlords.  BAD ME!  So – click on Joisy’s screenshot over there.  It’s so – green and refreshing!  (=

Revenge of BTSN

Okay, so . . . .
I work for a public high school. In the fall, most schools have this thing called “Back to School Night” – BTSN. You know, that thing where the parents can come into the school, follow their child’s schedule, meet the teachers, all that good stuff. Makes sense in the fall, right?

Our school has one in the Spring, too. Granted, we are on a semester schedule, so classes get switched around and whatnot, but – is a second BTSN really necessary? OY.

And parents COME. I don’t get it. It’s not like anything is really DIFFERENT from last semester?! AGH!

*death*destruction*maiming*

Ahh. Better. (;

PS – have you checked out my lovely tenet Daria yet? You know you want to. Go on. Click on that screenshot on your left. Go on. You know you want to click. You know you do….
