A Word From Betty

I think any film or film merchandise that includes the name “Betty” automatically makes it a damn fine movie.

Seriously.

I’m not just saying that because I’m Betty. Really. And to prove my point, I thought Snakes on a Plane was tons of fun and would totally go see it again.

Paper and Pens and Funky Books

Hallo! Thought I’d come by and play a while with Poe for FFAF! grin

I think, over the last five years, I’ve forgotten about things like ‘Back to School’. I haven’t had to attend a class since May 2000. Nor do I really miss it. I’m a library-haunting, random-researching, bookworm who will probably always be ‘studying’ something. Formal, structured education was dreadfully dull for me.

I do look forward to the phrase ‘Back to School’ though. It’s a bit of a silly, reason, really. But, with all the sales on school supplies, I can get an entire year’s worth of blank books, notebooks, pens, dividers, printing paper, etc. for way cheap. With as much as I’m still a pen and paper junkie, despite being a ‘net addict, that’s a big deal for me. grin

Blogarity!

So, as was mentioned before, Luka and I were bouncing ideas off one another about doing an Blogathon-esque event halfway between Thon ’06 and Thon ’07. And – we decided we were going to do it. Yes, yes we did.

I had a brainstorm at 2 am, just before I went to sleep, about the name. And I felt so stupid for not thinking about it before. Blog + Charity = Blogarity. And so it is. It is in existence and we are going to put it up.

WebKittyn is generously giving us webspace for free. pMachine donated a copy of Expression Engine and its discussion forums to help us get the site up and running. Yoshi is going to help out behind the scenes. Eliza has promised help, as have many others. I cannot say how much this outpouring of generousity means to us. I knew the blogging community was an amazing bunch. But – truly, this is above and beyond. We, of course, give Props to Cat and Sheana for the original idea, from the Blogathon.

Save the date: February 10, 2007
Save the time: 10am EST [Other Time Zones]
Save the place: Blogarity

Come on by and visit our Forums and help us plan. Pitch in to help. Tell us what you like, what you don’t like. We want this to run as smoothly as possible!

100 Things – Day 2

Here we are, Day 2 of the 100 Things. Thanks, Eliza. I’m posting! ::chuckles::

Hrmm. Yesterday, we talked about where I was born and grew up. Hrmm. Let’s see. Oh. I know.

I’m a very shy person.

No, really. I am one of the shyiest people you will ever meet – in person. I am way mroe outgoing here on the internets than I am in real life. I think it’s a rebellion against my innate shyness. Plus, it’s much easier to be outgoing here on the internets. You can’t really see anyone on the internets. And if they don’t like what you have to say, well, screw them anyway, right? Or – something. I think rejection is easier online – because you aren’t face to face. It’s easier to be rambunctious and nutty. Which I am, in real life, when I am comfortable. But – you have to get past that initial shyness.

But you would never guess I am a really shy person…
