Must See TV

Okay, daniel was posting about a new TV show he adores. And that reminded me of the one I watched last week which has become a MUST on my Mondays. (;

What is it?

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford. And it’s about a comedy sketch show. And it’s shown on NBC. If you haven’t seen it yet, find the first episode on you tube or – somewhere. The first ten minutes are so worth it, it’s unbelievable.

I’ll put the spoilers after the bump…

100 Things – Day 3

(Shush. I know I’m so behind, it’s crazy. SHHHH! Yoshi and Eliza, this is for you!)

Thing #3 about lil’, ol’ Poe. (;

I don’t drink soda any longer. No, really. I gave up the addiction. I haven’t had soda in – hrmm – nearly a year? I think it’s nearly a year. (=
I decided I was drinking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of the stuff, so I stopped drinking it. Poof. No more soda. (Pop to you mid-west peoples. (; )

Do I miss it? Sometimes. Mostly, the taste. Like, Dr. Pepper. Oh, how I loved that particular brand. And Cherry Coke. That stuff was great, too. And Birch Beer (or root beer). Yes, they are different. Birch Beer is a variant of Root Beer. Tastes different. God. I want a Root Beer Float now. AGH! XD

I pretty much drink mostly water and Arizona Green Tea. It’s been good for me. I’m less sleepy in the afternoons. It’s AMAZING, really. I stopped needing a nap *every day* after work when I stopped drinking soda. Who knew it sapped me of energy? Of course, drinking more water may have really been the key. Hard to say.

But – there you go. Thing #3.

I don’t drink soda. Not because I can’t – like Roomie – or because I don’t like it, but because I choose not to do so.

Weird, huh?

It’s called the “Monday Meltdown” and is an excuse to just let out some of the frustration within. We all have frustration, yes? So – let’s focus our frustration and let it out on Mondays – because we all know that Mondays just deserve it. Just ask Garfield. ::grins::

Here’s how it is going to work. I’m going to post a choice for you. You take it away and go! Either in the comments section or on your own blog. But if you run away to your own blog, please drop me a comment so I can come see. ::grins:: I love to read a good rant.

I also have a button up there you can ‘steal’. Steal meaning take away to your own server. Don’t direct link. I’m afraid I don’t have the bandwidth for that one. (; So – are you ready to vent? I know you are. ::grins::

This week’s rants:
1. No-Responsibility-Taking-People
or
2. Writer’s Choice!

You are free to rant about both or just one. Some of these rants may come back around, so don’t feel you need to do both of them so you can get it in. ::grins::

Okay! Go! If you are interested in my Meltdown for the week, it’s after the bump.

Life is weird

So, here’s what I’ve learned in the past month or so.

Life is bizarre, unusual, tedious, stressful, sweet, heart-wrenching, confusing, and a variety of other things which elude me in this moment.

I had to go back to work on the 21st of August. Okay, no big deal, right? Mmm. It takes some readjustment after 2 months of vacation. Not to mention the work I was able to accomplish at work during that first week was so minimal. Oy vey. For those of you new to the Box, I work at a public high school in the United States, teaching math. Yes, really. So, the first week of work is always just a professional week for us teacher-types to get ready for the new school year. The student-types returned to school on the 28th of August.

Can I just mention the air conditioning in my classroom did not work during the professional week, nor was it fixed by the time the kids came back on the 28th? Oh, yes, I am serious. That was fun. Because all of my classes were huge – at least 30, if not more. So – putting that many children into a classroom all day, it was very warm by 13:30 – which is when the last period of the day started. I think I just got used to it. The kids thought it was insanely hot and I just thought it was fine. Course, I would think walking into the hallway was a nice break. Note: the hallways of my school are not air conditioned. So, what does that tell you about the temperature of my classroom? *nod* Yup. The kids were impressed with me, however. “You teach in here all day? Wow. I don’t know how.” Yup. But – the guy came in and fixed it on Wednesday or Thursday of that week. Let us jump for joy, eh?

Anyway. Most of the emotions listed above were work related, though not all of them.

My best friend, Roomie, flew out to Germany on the 14th of September. SlushieMan, her husband, left on Monday, the 11th. So, I did spend most of the preceding week with them. This is not a visit. Roomie has been stationed in Germany and she will be there for three years. Note to self: Email Roomie. There’s the heart-wrenching part. We’ve not really been – separated – as it were since we met in college. It’s going to hard, really hard. I know she’s excited about it. I know she’s thrilled to go. I’m just – well – a selfish pain in the ass who is being all mopey about her not being here. It’ll pass. Maybe.

And, my dating site sent me an interesting guy – who apparently just wanted sex. Bastard. >___< You know, I honestly don't care of he never wanted to see me again, but at least return an email/phone call and tell me that, eh? Dropping off the face of the planet is a bit rude. (And he was adorable too. Dammit. Meh.) I’m going to try and catch up with what’s going on with the internets here. I hope Daniel and Betty are doing well. I need to check on Eliza and see if she’s moved across the pond yet. Jenny, how’s the new house? Luka, we should get with Yoshi and have a chat. Oh! CRAP! LUKA! *runs to turn on her radio* Luka’s radio show is on! (= And I remembered. *proud* As for the rest of my internets, I haven’t forgotten you, I promise.
