Worlds Collide

So, there are about a zillion things which will happen during the Blogathon. You already know all about what I’m doing. I’ll have a nice list of what’s good to visit during the Blogathon – you know, what other people are doing. But, what’s going on before the Blogathon. Anything? Is it just boring build-up and sponsorship begging?

Not that build-up is boring, or that sponsorship begging is bad (or unneeded. God knows I need it! (; ) – however! There is something you can do beforehand!

Mommy the Maid is blogging for the American Diabetes Association and she is running a raffle BEFORE the Blogathon. And she has some adorable stuff to be raffled off! I am totally entranced. Have a look!

MPYR Radio – The Empire, where it’s all about the music. The music spans many genres and the DJs there are fun and quirky. However, there is another reason I will be tuning my internet radio to MPYR.

MPYR Radio is doing some amazing things for the blogathon, including going *live* for 39 hours. Why 39 hours, you ask? That’s such an odd number, you say! Well, it’s not, not really. Because there is a second schedule to help accommodate those bloggers who have religious, work, family reasons for not being able to participate in the normal schedule, the Blogathon itself actually runs for 39 hours, not 24. Each blogger will only blog 24 hours, but the two schedules are offset by 15 hours, bringing the blogathon to a total of 39 hours. And MPYR is going to stay up for all of it. How can you not love that? (=

Not only that, but MPYR is offering to play ‘bumpers’ for bloggers. Bumpers are commercials. Yes, that’s right. MPYR is going to play commercials for people participating in the Blogathon, to garner them more traffic. In fact, MPYR has offered to MAKE these bumpers for the bloggers. And – if you stop by the MPYR Chatroom and say “I’m here for Blogathon Pimpage!” – you will be advertised on the radio as soon as the DJ breaks from music. Utterly rock-tastic.

A character bear. Yes, a character bear. I am writing an interactive story this year. The bear is dressed as one of the characters from the story. Which one? You’ll soon find out, won’t you! Here are some pictures of his adorableness.

So cute, don’t you think? I love him to death. I am going to raffle him. For every $5 pledged to my charity, there will be one ticket with your name put into the bowl. So, $10 = two tickets and two chances, $20 = four tickets and four chances. You get the idea. At the end of the ‘thon, with witnesses and under cam, I will draw a name to see who will be sent the character bear. (=

A $25 gift certificate to ThinkGeek or Amazon. I will be doing this just like the bear – a raffle. For every $5 pledged, one chance to win. Winner gets to choose which site they would like to have for their gift certificate.

I also have the journals again this year. The journals will be given out randomly to people who follow along with the story as it is posted, by commenting on the parts, voting, or talking to me via IM. Any winner of a journal will have the choice of having the journal sent to them blank – or with the story in it. I’m just that nice. Here are the journals I have for those random drawings. Sponsors are also eligible to win these journals, just by virtue of having sponsored me! Anyone else would need to be present to win. (Ha, I always wanted to say that.)

This one has funky dots and stripes on it. The pages are pink, as is the ribbon you can use to keep your place. Those dots just give me a great kick!

This journal has white and blue flowers all over it. The pages are a lovely light blue as is the ribbon you can use to mark your place. I just love it to death.

I’m not sure where I picked up this journal, but it is a gorgeous fairy in a red dress. The wings actually sparkle, though you cannot tell from the image.

This one is a rich, rich sapphire blue, with a rose and vines embroidered onto it. It also has a plastic sleeve to keep it clean. It is a bit smaller than the others.

I bought this journal in Australia, and then did not have time to write in it. The journal is actually covered in fabric, making it a very durable journal.

This is actually a set of notecards with fairies on them. There are five designs, two of each design, for a total of ten cards. Each comes with an envelope. They are gorgeous!
