Okay, since I am going to be choosing a military charity – Many thanks to my ubiest Luka and to my dearest Betty for their suggestions and help! – I want to have a different theme for the ‘Thon as well. (Betty and Jenny, I may email you in a frantic panic after I screw up the blog. & 😥 in advance, eh?)
Anyway. Any thoughts of what to do with the top header? I don’t really want a red-white-blue theme. I work for a school who has the Patriot as the mascot. I get enough red, white, and blue at work. I need some time off from that. I don’t mind having the US flag as an accent, but I’d rather not have it as the feature. So, I’m not sure. I really would love some input.
Thoughts?
Have you seen the US Football Logo?? I think they did a really good job of being patriotic without using the stars and stripes in the conventional way.

LOVE the snake and “Don’t Tread On Me” feel to it.
You could do something similar with the soldier’s cross or whatever military symbol floats your boat. heh.
What about something with monuments? It seems to me that’s one of the things that really sets the US apart from many countries – we only really do monuments of our great military leaders, so maybe you could do a layout around some kind of monument or some other homage to soldiers? Or, depending on what kind of a charity you choose, you could do something around that charity’s theme… For example, one year someone did a “music for the troops” charity (I think?), so if you were doing something like that you could center your theme around music but use the military colors or something?
I dunno, I’m no help, sorry… I’m having a hard time trying to find something inspirational for a layout that has something to do with my charity, but it’s much harder than I expected!
