4th Doings

Now that I have gotten all my philosophical musings out of the way, let’s discuss what I actually did yesterday. LOL There were some – issues – but we’ll save those for another post since they are internet related. This particular post will deal with my real life. Ahhh. Real life. (=

Late afternoon, I headed over to Roomie’s house, to visit with her and her hubby, SlushieMan. How I adore them. In any event, I ran over to their house for some food, company, and fun. And all was, indeed, had. SlushieMan grilled hamburgers and brats on his very ‘manly’ grill. This thing is HUGE. Not large, huge. Sheesh. But, it was some amazing food. The burger was huge. Way huge. Yum.

After the food, we wandered off to do some chillin’ and hangin’. Roomie had to do some packing for a trip, but it was cool. I enjoyed helping her think about what she might be forgetting. SlushieMan was off, taking care of computer things. Silly man. Roomie and I watched Project Runway, my current obsession. WOO! I adore it. I cannot wait for Season Three to start next week! YAY!

I hung out with them until the fireworks were over. And I must say, A Capitol Fourth, put on by WETA TV, Maryland Public Television, utterly disappointed me. Where was my 1812 overture with cannons? WHERE. BAH! I was so unimpressed with the arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner they used as the finale. Some Christian singer, who did TWO verses, and sang the whole thing in the stars, especially the end. (PS, “In the stars” is something I picked up from my mother. It means the person is singing it in a really, really, REALLY high key. It amuses me because my mom CAN sing in the stars. LOL) Anyway. I was just unhappy. I wanted my 1812 overture with cannons! Bah.

Overall, though, the day was a success. I always have a fun hanging out with Roomie and SlushieMan. I’ve known them both for years, since college. I think we are going on a decade. Freakin’ eh.

I’m going to miss those two. (That’s a whole other post. It’s coming…)
