Okay. So, I got sucked into watching all of the audition episodes of American Idol. I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. Ah, well. The auditions were, as expected, a wide range. Good, bad, mediocre. (“You are my brother….best friends forever….”)
Now, I am watching the top 24 go at it. Tonight – the 12 boys.
Honestly? Not impressed. Not really. I should have been writing this down as they went along so I could keep track of my thoughts on them, but – I didn’t think about posting about AI until – just now. So – mleh. Sorry, internets. I have failed you. I have not followed Diz’s example properly. I apologize. I shall do better tomorrow for the girls.

Anyway. Seven contestants so far. And not a single one of them has made me think – “Wow. That guy could do it.” So, yeah. :/ Five guys to go and I’m just sad about it. Mleh.
The only one who really made an impression was that Chakezie guy – and it wasn’t a good impression. The suit was god awful. I understand they are doing 60’s music, but – WOW. That orange (yes ORANGE) suit was – yikes. Total yikes. And the song – not impressed by it at all.
Hrmm. Who is this on my TV screen now? (Holy shit. The people in the audience have their hands up and are doing a slow hand wave. What. The. Fuck. Are you kidding me?) Luke Menard. Thank you, subtitle people. Much appreciated. And – not impressed. Blah. I mean, he’s alright – but – eh. As Randy would say – I’m not feeling it. (Falsetto? Is he Jordan Knight? What?)
And the guy who did Elvis Presley’s Jailhouse Rock – that wasn’t bad, actually. Simon hated it, but I thought it was okay. (No, I don’t remember who it was. Yes, I suck. q: )
Anyway. Since I’ve fucked this up so badly, I’m going to wrap it up and promise to do better tomorrow with the girls. (If I remember.)

You don’t need to go to all that trouble on my account…in fact please don’t go to that trouble lol…I can’t stand AI ever since I watched part of the first season. I couldn’t even tell you the names of the past winners if it would win me $1000.
Mind you I also couldn’t stand watching Survivor or Big Brother etc etc either. Just not my cup of tea.

I missed American Idol yesterday. I really wanted to see who’d stand out from the 12 boys. But, it seems, I really didn’t miss much. Based on your post.

There arent new talents i see with the new roster. It seems that the judges are now left with no choice. There is nothing fresh with what these singers are presenting. No wonder AI winners’ albums bomb at the charts.
