Cop Out, NaBlo, and NaNo

Alright. I admit it. Yesterday’s post was a total cop out. I mean, I did post on November 1st, so it counts, but I meant to post more and – like – talk about NaBloPoMo and all that stuff. But – I didn’t. And I feel like a total cheater for not doing it up properly. >___< Suddenly, I feel like I’m in a confessional at the church of the Internet…
“Bless me Internets, for I have sinned. It has been 2 weeks since my last real blog post…”

(If you aren’t Catholic, that’s not quite as funny. (; Or, maybe it is. Is it? (; )

In any event! Daniel has me doing NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month. I have a profile there – which I will link on the sidebar here eventually. I also started a group for all the lovely EE people out there! We are a fun group! You should join! (; The point of NaBloPoMo is to post to your blog once a day for the entire month of November. And there are no rules beyond that. There must be at least one entry for each day of November – or you fail. Huh. Seems like there should be something more rigorous to the process, but – I suppose the point it just to get you into the habit of posting and eventually, the content and quality will catch up to the quantity. Seems right. Right?

I’m also doing NaNoWriMo again this year with Diz. I must be insane. Doing NaBlo and NaNo. I have a feeling, some of these NaBlo posts are going to be about my word count in NaNo.

For those of you out of the loop, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a 50000 word novel in the month of November. No, really. That’s the goal. And – um – I’m doing it. And Diz is doing it. We’re doing it together. Well. She has her novel and I have my novel, but we are cheerleading each other. It seems easier that way. Poke the other person to write and all that. (= Over at NaNo, I’m registered as Hecate. I know, what’s up with that? Poe, PoesBox, PoeBox – all taken. Nuts to them! So, I’m Hecate over there. If you are doing NaNo – drop me a note! Let’s be writing buddies! (=

And one final thought, brought on by Daniel’s most recent Lunchtime Poll…

My panties are showing and that’s just fine. That’s why I have a blog, to let my panties hang out and to express my thoughts and feelings as I am having them. I do not want to have to censor myself because real life friends are reading my blog. It ruins the whole point of having a blog, I think. And if those people are really my friends, they’ll understand me and what I write. So – there. q:

What you should be for halloween is get a nurse outfit, and some knee pads. Then go to the local shop that can do name badges, get your name imprinted with the title Head Nurse.

This is a great one for two reasons.

1) From a distance people will think. Why the hell does she have knee pads on????
2) When in reading distance they will laugh like crazy.

Its a one two punch.

Halloween is also one of my favorite holidays.  My Mom was a holiday nut and went overboard on most holidays, including Halloween.  While we were still trick-or-treating, she handmade all of our costumes and could probably get a part-time job as a make-up artist.  I think my favorite costume was my “Batgirl” costume.  I was about 6 or 7 years old and she made the cutest outfit with a gray leotard, wrist cuffs, belt, boots, hat with ears…the works.  I’ll never be as talented and creative, but I did purchase the cutest little pirate outfit for my 2 year old son.  Halloween has a whole new level of excitement now that I have children to enjoy it with!
