Idjits

Now, I am normally very strict about how I spell online. Just because most of the ‘shorthand’ that is used just drives me bonkers. ‘U’ and ‘ur’ top the list. You. YOU. Three letters. Type them all. It’s not that much longer. Sheesh. But – anyway. My friends and I – also proponents of using proper spelling and grammar when online – have determined that some people are not just idiots, they are BEYOND that term. So – we dubbed them idjits – after a friend of ours, who was not a proponent of spelling properly, was seen using the term. Just as a side note on the title.

To the post at hand. This is sort of related to MM‘s posts, but not it’s not about parenting.

I’ve spent the last couple days, peeved at someone who decided his way was the best way. This is HTML related. I love learning new tricks and tips about website coding. I’ve been doing it for 9 years, but I know I don’t know it all. However, I do object to having said information RAMMED down my throat while it is implied what I was doing is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Just as MM said – suggestion is fine. I love suggestions. Having it THROWN at me and my opinion stomped into the dirt – not so good. Yes, I’m an adult, but that sort of action tends to make me react very defensively, almost like a child. To be further told that I shouldn’t have brought emotive words into the conversation and that I needed to be calm during the discussion – well. You can imagine what I was screaming at the monitor at that point.

Incidently, I found out today that the person who did this – 10 years my junior. On yes. That made me really want to do some slugging. Do not talk to me like I am 5. I’m 27 years old. I’m an ADULT. I’ve been coding since you were still using crayons and coloring books, thank you. Please drive through.

Mmmm. So – IDJIT. Beyond idiot and moron and even asshole. ::sighs::

But it’s okay. I am an adult. While it irritated me – and still does to a point – I will get over it and move on.
