I’ve decided to start my own meme. If it gets big enough – I’ll give it a place of its own. For now – just click on the ‘Meltdown’ category to see what’s going on.
It’s called the “Monday Meltdown” and is an excuse to just let out some of the frustration within. We all have frustration, yes? So – let’s focus our frustration and let it out on Mondays – because we all know that Mondays just deserve it. Just ask Garfield. ::grins::
Here’s how it is going to work. I’m going to post a choice for you. You take it away and go! Either in the comments section or on your own blog. But if you run away to your own blog, please drop me a comment so I can come see. ::grins:: I love to read a good rant.
I also have a button up there you can ‘steal’. Steal meaning take away to your own server. Don’t direct link. I’m afraid I don’t have the bandwidth for that one. (; So – are you ready to vent? I know you are. ::grins::
I was irritated this week by:
1. stupid people (idiot people, moron people, frustrating people, you get the idea)
or
2. huge crowds at the store
You are free to rant about both or just one. Many thanks to Teli for the inspiration for #1. Some of these rants may come back around, so don’t feel you need to do both of them so you can get it in. ::grins::
Okay! Go! If you are interested in my Meltdown for the week, just click on the ‘more’ there.
I was irritated this week by stupid people.
Keep in mind these people may not ACTUALLY be stupid, but their actions made me want to label them as stupid people. I live in a pretty up-scale county. My students drive better cars than I do. However, it has become apparent that I do not live in that section of the county. How did I come to this conclusion, you might ask? Ah, there lies the rub. Let’s check this out.
1. The kids of the apartment complex sit on the stairs outside my door – in the middle of August, mind you – and talk. Loudly.
2. Some of the inhabitants will sit outside the complex – on the walkway from the street in front of the complex to my apartment – in their pajamas. For hours on end.
3. Someone vandalized my car.
No. I’m not kidding. Someone from around here vandalized the driver’s side mirror of my car. I drive a Honda Accord – 1999 model year. The mirrors are automatic, controlled from inside the car. I love it. So nice. And the mirrors are INSET into a fiberglass shell – hiding the wiring and mechanics that allow me to adjust the mirrors from the comfort of the inside of my car. Which means that if you want to screw up the mirror, you have to curl your fingers AROUND the mirror part and pull. It’s not something you can do by accident like on my brothers ’89 Ford 150 (a pickup truck).
I got out of my car on Friday afternoon/evening (about 4:00pm- ish) – the mirror was fine. I have been parking it on the street since I moved into the building in February. I’ve never had a problem. I got back into my car on Saturday morning, around 10:15 am, and the mirror is unusable. I look into it and I see the road. I tried to adjust it – no dice.
I am so pissed off about this. Someone PULLED so hard that I can see the lime-green sticker on the inside of the fiberglass shell with the part number for the mirror. I can see the wiring of the mirror that makes it work. What the HELL is going ON? I didn’t realize I’d moved into the HOOD. But – apparently – there are hoodlums in my neighborhood. Stupid, idiotic kids acting like hoodlums. GRRRRRRRRRR.
The Honda dealership cannot see my car until Wednesday. And I had to drive around the Capital Beltway this past Saturday – the day of discovery. Can you say ‘Hopping Mad’ ? I thought you could. Not to mention, Honda is going to charge me 100 bucks for it. If I’m lucky.
Goddess save me from stupid hoodlums. May she smite them and keep my car safe from future antics.
OUCH…that’s brutal. A few years back, my car stereo was stolen and the best part? I lived in a gated community.
I went to dance class one evening, came home (was listening to my CD and rehearsing steps in my head), went to sleep, the next morning I went and sat in my car – as I reached over to pop in a different CD nothing but loose wires.
Now, this wasn’t just any old CD player either – it was a $350 dual cassette/CD player – gone. The only model that fit my car too. I am still mad thinking about it.
I felt so violated, that was one time I really wanted to cause bodily harm to someone…hoodlums, it’s like they don’t have any home training or anything.
btw, I’m glad I could inspire ya!
See, that is just one thing I will never understand. Damaging someone’s property is just evil. The loser that did it doesn’t benefit in any way so why the hell do it??
Crap like that happens a lot off base… bored kids with not enough supervision.
Gah!
Um… I’m sure I was upset with stupid people this week but I have such a shitty memory I can’t think of anything right now. š
