So, the only thing on at the ungodly hour of 8 am on a Sunday is the VH1 countdown. So I’m watching it. But I’m also in here, trying to get something done for someone. So I’m listening to it in here, then watching it when I hear something I want to see.
I randomly got up and went into the living room at one point to find a video that looked seriously grainy – like an old homemade video your mom and dad used to make. All the players in it are dressed straight out of the eighties – complete with the camaro and other ‘flashy’ cars from that era. Big hair, mullets, half-t-shirts, it was quite amusing.
The entire video – overlaid with a song I did not know – was about this group of guys going to a concert. There’s the driving to the concert venue with five guys in one small sports car – t-tops off, of course. Once they arrive, they mingle with the other concert goers. I saw air guitar, women on the hoods of other sports cars, trying to be sexy, one guy weightlifting a chick. Oh, did I mention the name of this band they are going to see is ‘Sphynkter’? No, really. ::snickers:: Flash to the concert itself and it’s like any hair band you ever saw in the eighties. A little Steven Tyler for lead vocalist, but everything else was pretty generic per hair bands. Tight clothes, tightly permed long hair. At this point, I’m nearly dying in my chair.
The end rolls around and they flash the name of the song that was playing and the name of the band.
Wait for it . . .
Wait for it . . . .
Backstreet Boys.
Yes. That’s what I said. It was the Backstreet Boys totally spoofing concerts of the eighties. I couldn’t tell it was them. Maybe if I was one of those diehard fantatics, I might have seen it, but I’m not. I know what they look like – but – damn. They were that much diguised under eighties gear.
I don’t care if you hate them and their music. You have to see this video. The song is called “Just Want You to Know.” I went and looked it up on yahoo music for you.
Must See Hilarity
I couldn’t link right to the video, but scroll down until you see the Music Videos list. Just click on the ‘Just Want You to Know’ one.
Freaking laugh out loud funny. Or maybe it was just me. That was the best thing I’ve seen in ages.
And from a ‘pop’ and ‘boy’ band. ::snickers::
That video started playing randomly on something and I watched in horror. I didn’t know it was them either and when I finally realized it I was even more horrified.
