As before – click on the ‘Meltdown’ category to see old versions.
It’s called the “Monday Meltdown” and is an excuse to just let out some of the frustration within. We all have frustration, yes? So – let’s focus our frustration and let it out on Mondays – because we all know that Mondays just deserve it. Just ask Garfield. ::grins::
Here’s how it is going to work. I’m going to post a choice for you. You take it away and go! Either in the comments section or on your own blog. But if you run away to your own blog, please drop me a comment so I can come see. ::grins:: I love to read a good rant.
I also have a button up there you can ‘steal’. Steal meaning take away to your own server. Don’t direct link. I’m afraid I don’t have the bandwidth for that one. (; So – are you ready to vent? I know you are. ::grins::
This week’s rants:
1. Apathetic People
or
2. Internet Grammar
You are free to rant about both or just one. Some of these rants may come back around, so don’t feel you need to do both of them so you can get it in. ::grins::
Okay! Go! If you are interested in my Meltdown for the week, it’s after the bump.
Mmm. Tough choice. I wanted to rant about Apathetic People, but the Internet Grammar is tempting. VERY tempting. Mmm. That one might make a second appearance.
Apathetic People
I suppose this rant is really against my students. The semester is coming to an end and some of them are so – listless and uncaring about finishing out the quarter – and the semester. They’ve checked out – mentally, anyway. They stare at me in class, do not do the homework assignments, or even attempt to do the problems on the review worksheets I’ve given them. And these students will be the ones that scream the loudest when they fail. I just do not understand how someone can just – do nothing. I mean, I know there are days when you just do NOT want to do anything. But when your grade is dependant on doing certain assignments . . .
MEH! *sigh* Anyway.
If I remember correctly, my reasoning was, “This crud is boring as hell…when can I go sneak a brewski?” About mid school year is when what little interest I had in my classes (aka- the shiny newness) began to fade (and turned into a dingy dull grey). It was also when the, “OMG, I’m in whatever grade!!!” wears off, and changed to, “Hurry up so I can get to the next grade…I’m sure it blows way less.”
This and much more honesty is brought to you by the Former Outcasts of the American Academic System (that name isn’t too long is it?)
Your a blogging loon! What are you talking about?!?
I’m Drowsy Pandora, but you know I love you. And I think its Wednesday early AM now so I’m not sure if my rant would count for monday meltdown. Am I typing? I won’t remember this tomorrow.
Is Internet Grammar the same as Internet Spelling?
If so, then one of the most annoying things is when people don’t know how to spell the word “lose” and write “loose” instead.
Eg, they write “My team are not going to loose”. AAARRRGGHH!
Losers (not Loosers…)
BTW, nice blog.
Where are you?
