Pownce!

Pownce has finally gone public. It has been in private beta for a while, meaning you needed an invite to get an account. They were controlling the numbers to make sure stuff would work. But! It’s finally public! Go! Play with it!

What is it, you ask?

Pownce is somewhere a cross between email, message boards, and IM, with a bit of a blog feel to it. (Thanks to Raj for help with the description.) You can follow other powncers’ messages and all that, but there are other things you can do besides send messages/post thoughts. You can send files, links, events – it’s totally awesome. And they have also put in a ‘featured powncer’ thing. It’s not based on how many ‘friends’ a person has, but what that particular person is posting. So cool. (=
