Heat Wave!

I live outside DC. It’s December. It’s supposed to be cold. I mean, it should be around 40 or so, right? (That’s in Farenheit degrees and not Celcius degrees, for you non-US people. (; 40 Celcius would suck. A lot.) What is it? 70! SEVENTY!!

What.

The.

FUCK.

I’m listening to my Christmas Radio Station and wondering if this is how people in Florida feel. That it’s too damn hot to think about Christmas and snow. Ergh!

I hate it.

GIVE ME MY SNOW!

And my smileys! I lost my smileys! Betty! HELP! My square smileys are LOST! *sobs*

Surround Sound

No, no. Not that stuff with your TV. No, no. Not at all.

I’m talking about my favorite radio station right now. WASH FM
They are currently playing 24/7 Christmas music. No, really! They really are. I absolutely love it. They’ve been doing it since the Monday before Thanksgiving. Perhaps a bit early for most people, but that’s okay.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not currently listening to the station 24/7. However, I do like being able to turn on the Christmas music whenever I’m in the mood for it. Currently, I’ll listen during period 4 at work. (Around 10 am to 11 am.) And depending on how loud the Senior Planners are 5th period, I leave it on for them as well. They love it. (=

The only thing which bothers me is that they *stop* playing Christmas music at about midnight December 26. (I mean, the midnight which starts it, not ends it.) That annoys me. *I* want to hear Christmas music all the way through New Year’s. Since that is still – technically – the holiday season. I mean, that is when I am *off* from work for the holidays. Give me my Christmas music! While I can understand them being tired of it after a solid month, I need *MORE*. I would totally be okay with them starting later in December, if they would play it until December 31st. *le sigh*

Anyway, if you don’t have a local radio station doing the same, you can listen to them from your web browser. Which I have done. It’s pretty darn good. (=

Radio Show – 11/30

It’s Thursday – you know what that means.
Ayup. Poe, the DJ! (;
Broadcasting that 80’s music, just like you love it.

I’ll be on this evening, 20:00 – 22:00. That’s 8pm to 10pm for you non-military US folks. (;
Of course, that’s also Eastern Standard Time. What is it for everyone else?
Look at this nifty chart I found! Non-Eastern Times

You may ask – how do I listen? Why, go on over to the Mojo Radio site and click on the link at the top of the middle column. It says – Listen Live! (; You can use the Live365 player or you can use one you already have, such as winamp (my favorite), real player, or windows media player. (=

You can also join me in the chatroom. What chatroom? This Chatroom. I hang out in there during the show and generally get completely distracted by the conversations going on in there. It’s become a contest for those in the chatroom. They try – on purpose – to make me lose track of what I am saying when I am broadcasting. It’s fun. (;

Anyway. Come on by and get your 80’s on! We <3 our 80’s music!

Edit: Playlist for the show after the bump! (=

Panic (not at the disco!)

Okay, so, here’s the story. (I’ll be telling this in present tense, so, yes, the time is off from the time of this post. q: Deal.)

I’m at work. (‘Cuz its 9:00 am and a Thursday and not a holiday. Of course, I’m at work.) I’m administering a chapter test to my 2nd period students. One of them needs to have a section chunked. Crap. I didn’t run any of the sections single sided. Okay, I’ll just staple a piece of paper over the back. Cool. Wait. Where’s the stapler. Crap. In the desk. I open the desk and snag my ring on the metal above the drawer. Nothing which hasn’t happened before. The drawer opens, out comes the stapler, close goes the drawer. I staple the paper to the test section and give it to the student. I resume my seat behind the desk. I pick up my pencil to finish the key. Something’s weird. I look – ring is sans the stone. AHHHHHHH! *panic* Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s not like the stone was some 2 carat, perfect diamond. It was just an oval amethyst stone. But – it was something given to me by my mother when I was barely a teen. Ya. SERIOUS sentimental value. (Not to mention, I just had the thing reset because the gold of the original ring wouldn’t stand up to another resizing.) Major panic attack. I looked all over the floor. I looked in the drawer. I looked on the floor. I looked around the classroom. I checked my pockets. Now, I’m ready to cry, but can’t – students watching. AHHHH! *more panic* I checked the drawer one more time, including a box in there. I emptied the box. There it was – under everything in the box. Oh, thank goddess. *less panic*

What a way to start your day, eh? *breathe*

Now, I’ll be off to the jeweler’s to have the stone reset (again).

But, at least I found it. *phew*

How’s your day?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. (I need a drink…)

Bon Jovi: King of the 80’s

Diz! Where *ARE* you?! How can you *not* be here to celebrate with me?! Dammit. >_____< I’m sitting here, watching VH1. (Read, procrastinating NaNoWriMo…)
They are running (rather, were running) The 100 Greatest Songs of the 80s. There were some great songs on that list! Songs I need to get for my show. ::muahahahahahahahahaha:: (Mojo Radio, baby! There Can Be Only Poe….)

But, anyway. They just ran the #1 song of the 80’s…

Bon Jovi – Livin’ on a Prayer.

I NEED DIZ!

*sigh* She would rock out with me…

Such a great song…
