I am a Goddess

I knew this, of course.  Did you?  (;

You Are Artemis!

Brave, and a natural born leader.
You’re willing to fight for what you believe in…
And willing to make tough decisions.
Don’t forget – the people around you have ideas too!

‘Thon 07 Push #1

(This entry is sticky for a bit – look below for new entries!)

Two weeks from Saturday, on July 28th, I will be participating in an online charity even known as The Blogathon. It’s pretty simple. The goal is to post every 30 minutes for 24 hours for a specific charity, one of the blogger’s choosing. The idea is to get your friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers to sponsor you for that effort. People can sponsor either by hour or in a lump sum. During the Blogathon you post about whatever you want – using whatever theme and posting style you like. My particular theme is going to be an interactive story. I will post a section and then allow the readers to decide between two choices what should happen next.

After the Blogathon is over, those people who sponsored you send money to your specific charity. There is no middleman. Neither I, nor the organizers of Blogathon ever touch, see, or even smell that money. Annually, the Blogathon generates over $100,000 for Charities all over the world. Not only is it effective, but it is a really good time for those involved – both those blogging and those who are just following along! There will be hundreds of other bloggers all over the world, doing their own amazing thing for 24 hours straight. There really is no shortage of amazing things occurring during those 24* hours – and there is an utterly astounding amount of money raised for a huge variety of charities. Each year, the generousity of the world makes me cry. Thank you in advance for that. I love the good tears.

So, what does that mean for you? I need sponsors. My charity this year is the Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans of America. You can pledge any amount you wish. Every dollar counts, it really does. Sponsor Me. You can see why I chose them in this entry.

* Technically the Blogathon is 39 hours. The ‘Main’ schedule runs 9 am to 9 am eastern. The ‘B’ Schedule does not start until the midnight after that 9 am, so midnight to midnight eastern.

Grrr!!

There are a few things you do *not* do if you live in a condominium complex or apartment complex. Let’s list the top two, shall we?

  1. Thou shalt not just throw your bags into the garbage collection room, ignoring the actual garbage cans put there to keep the doorway free and available for the use of others.
  2. Thou shalt not throw your cigarette butts on the walkway leading up to your home just because that was where you happened to go to get your nic fix.

AGH! #1 is the reason for this rant. I cannot believe I saw that this morning. Someone opened the door to the building which houses the collective garbage cans – and just put their bags down. In the doorway. I had to step OVER them to get to the trashcan and put my trash where it would not bother someone else. Grrrrrrrrrrr. It’s one thing when there’s been a holiday and the trash collectors haven’t been to pick up the trash in five days. It’s another when they’ve just been here and your bags are the only ones left on the floor.

Selfish much?!

Bwah?!

Okay, so, I’ve found some random things while surfing. But, I think I have hit the mother lode. O_O

Boys (and girls, I suppose!) – if talk of menstrual things makes you feel all “ewwwy” or really just makes you want to go – “Um, I’ll be over here…” – perhaps you should skip this entry. (;

Just us girls now? Or did you stay, boys? (;

Gmail runs text links to ads and news stories at the top when you are logged into it. Which is how I found the Drama Queen story. I – couldn’t help myself for this one.

The Keeper and the Moon Cup.

I am utterly uncertain how I feel about this. I really am. I’m waffling between “Ewwwww!” and “Zomg, that’s really cool.” Of course, I read the directions.
