Holiday Weekend

It’s been a very long weekend. Very long indeed. I spent Friday night with friends. That was actually very much fun. ::smiles::

A friend of mine was having a birthday party at Dave and Busters. We had dinner first, then played video games. The food was blah, but the dinner conversation was great. The video games were fun as well. I played air hockey and a driving game. Some skeeball – which was really fun. And the birthday boy managed to score a bazillion tickets. ::giggles:: Well, maybe not that many. He did, however, earn enough – with the help of his dinner mates – to get enough to “purchase” party favors for his guests. That was pretty cool. I got a Dave and Busters shot glass out of the deal. ::grins:: And! I got to hang out with Roomie and SlushieMan.

Saturday was a very, very lonely day. Nothing sucks more than spending New Year’s Eve alone with your cat. Especially when you’ve not done so since – well – freshman year of college. Dear god. I suck. >___< So, yeah. The cat and I rang in the new year with Dick Clark. Did anyone else watch that? Did anyone else notice that his speech sounded really slow and somewhat labored? Poor guy. Then again - isn't he, like, 200 years old? XD Sunday was very laid back and relaxed. Sunday night was a night of wanting to strangle people online, but that’s okay. I spent all of Sunday watching a Monk marathon. Which reminds me. I spent Saturday watching the Law and Order: Criminal Intent marathon. Today, I overslept. Then I spent the day trying to do grading. I should not have tried to watch SG:1 whilst doing so. I ended up turning it off and grading to music. But – I still didn’t finish the grading. Oh well. ::sighs:: It happens. Mmmm. Anyway. How was y’all’s weekend? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Good-Bye 2005

Ah, my dear 2005.

You brought me a new home. You brought a new job and home for my closest friend. You brought my dear friend home. You allowed other friends to marry. Several celebrated first and second anniversaries. You brought heartbreak. You brought loneliness. You brought stress and frustration. You tore some friends apart.

Every year brings ups and it brings downs.

2005, for all of the despair it brought, it also brought some hope and happiness.

May 2006 bring more than I ever thought possible.

Here’s to you, 2005. Farewell to thee.

Bring on 2006. I’m ready for something new. Perhaps something less – unhappy.
